The third annual Holocaust Survivors’ Seder was held at Ovation Sarah Chudnow on January 24 in commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Remembering the challenges faced by those who survived the holocaust and using recipes found in the Holocaust Survivors Cookbook, residents at Ovation Sarah Chudnow selected a menu to be served, seder-style, as the stories of the survivor who contributed the recipe to the book were told. About 100 people attended the sold-out dinner. Jonathan Brodie and Twila Bergeron provided background music for the event.
Co-sponsored by the Holocaust Education and Resource Center (an agency of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation) and Hand in Hand, (the volunteer arm of Ovation Jewish Home), this event focused on the living and celebrated their ability to survive under the worst of conditions.
