Richard Strait has been a prominent board member of the Jewish Home and Care Center Foundation for ten years and counting. After learning about Ovation Communities and the amazing services offered, he felt an immediate connection and desire to contribute.

Rick moved to senior advisor status for Northwestern Mutual Capital in 2017 after a 35-year career where he spent most of his time managing corporate investments. He currently serves as director for a food company and hopes to add more outside assignments as he continues to wind down his work with Northwestern Mutual.

As chair of the Jewish Home and Care Center Foundation’s investment committee, Rick’s role is to optimize results. He and his fellow committee members work tirelessly to consider long-term benefits for the organization, ensuring funds are allocated correctly and providing informed advice to the board surrounding assets and budgets.

“Providing quality care for our seniors is a core principle of the Jewish faith,” said Rick. “I support the mission and recognize the critical importance of services supported by the foundation.”

Looking ahead, Rick acknowledges that the need for quality senior care is often greater than the ability or resources available to provide it. He hopes the foundation will continue to grow and make an even bigger impact in the community.

“I’ve been very impressed by and fortunate to be associated with Ovation’s leadership team and everything the foundation supports,” said Rick. “The focus is always on high-quality care. Everyone’s heads and hearts are in the right place.”
