Michelle Putz is the COO at Ovation Communities. In her role, Michelle is responsible for streamlining operations at Ovation Communities. She oversees the human resources, dietary, nursing, marketing and IT departments. Michelle ensures that processes run efficiently and effectively in each department.
Michelle first started working as a CNA in long-term care where she worked her way up to be the Director of Nursing and then licensed Nursing Home Administrator. From there, Michelle then spent the next 30 years of her career in long term care in executive positions. Before coming to Ovation Communities, Michelle was the Interim CEO at a mid-size retirement community.
Michelle attended University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee’s (UWM) Nursing school becoming a registered nurse in December 1996. Later, Michelle returned to UWM earning her MBA in Health Care and Administration Management in 2004. In addition to her two degrees, Michelle has also earned a certificate in Nursing Home Administration, is wound care certified, and is also a registered nurse.
Outside of Ovation Communities, Michelle is n Director at Large for LeadingAge Wisconsin. She is also the Vice President of the UWM Board of Trustees, and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Michelle has earned three awards from the American Health Care Association, two Bronze-Commitment to Quality Awards and one Silver-Achievement in Quality Award. Michelle was also the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee College of Nursing’s Distinguished Alumni. She was one of 50 distinguished alumni recognized over the last 50 years out of over 8,000 graduates.
