Ovation Communities is proud to recognize three exceptional team members as recipients of the Maurice S. Surlow Award for Employee Excellence. This is an honor that celebrates those who go above and beyond in caring for our residents each day.
Mazel tov to this quarter’s recipients:
- Lula Abdullahi, Dietary Aide – Jewish Home
- Kimberly Peterson, Receptionist – Jewish Home
- Kelly McClendon, CNA – Chai Point
Established in 2000 by the Zucker family, the Surlow Award honors the legacy of Maurice S. Surlow, a Hungarian immigrant and Milwaukee entrepreneur who deeply valued hard work, community, and outstanding customer service. After spending time at the Jewish Home later in life, Maurice was profoundly impacted by the compassion and dedication of the caregivers he encountered. His family created this award to ensure that those acts of kindness and excellence would continue to be recognized.
Staff are nominated by peers, residents, and families for their commitment to providing exceptional care. Recipients are individuals who meet the highest standards of service, but also build meaningful connections and bring warmth, dignity, and respect to every interaction.
Lula, Kimberly, and Kelly exemplify the spirit of the Surlow Award through their dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to those we serve. Thank you for all you do to make Ovation Communities stronger every day.
