Ovation Communities is honored to recognize three outstanding team members as the newest recipients of the Maurice S. Surlow Award for Employee Excellence. This distinguished award celebrates employees whose compassion, dedication, and commitment make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents every day.

Created in 2000 through the generosity of the Zucker family, the Maurice S. Surlow Award honors the legacy of Maurice S. Surlow, a Hungarian immigrant and Milwaukee entrepreneur who believed deeply in hard work, service, and treating others with kindness and respect. After experiencing the exceptional care provided at the Jewish Home later in life, Maurice’s family established this award to recognize the employees who embody those same values.
Nominees are submitted by fellow employees, residents, and family members in recognition of their outstanding service and unwavering commitment to resident care. Beyond delivering exceptional support, recipients foster meaningful relationships and create an environment where every resident feels valued, respected, and at home.
Tetyana, Martin, and Shawna exemplify the spirit of the Surlow Award through their professionalism, compassion, and dedication to enhancing the lives of those we serve. We are grateful for the care they provide and the positive impact they make every day.
